Care Instructions For Boards
Each of our boards is lovingly handcrafted from natural wood, making every piece unique. We treat every board with our own Board Butter once it’s made and reapply it regularly while it waits for its new home. This helps nourish the wood and protect its natural beauty. With a little care and attention, your board will continue to look beautiful and serve you well for years to come.
Follow these simple care instructions to keep your wooden board in its best condition.
Hand Wash
Clean the board shortly after use with warm water and mild dish soap to prevent food residue from drying
Never Use The Dishwasher
The intense heat and water will warp the wood, and the cleaning chemicals will destroy the grain.
Avoid Soaking
Do not submerge the board in water or leave to sit in the sink, as this will cause the wood to warp and crack
Avoid High Heat
Do not place hot pans or pots directly on the wood. They will burn it!
Dry Upright
Prop the board upright on its edge to air dry completely after washing, ensuring air circulates a round all sides
When To Treat The Board
Treat the board monthly, or sooner if the wood looks pale, dry, or feels rough.
Board Butter Application Method
Apply a generous layer of Board Butter and rub it into the wood. Leave overnight to allow it to fully absorb, then buff away any excess the following day.
